In Conversation with the Dashing Nani from the show Khatmal –E-Ishque Veteran actress Sulabha Arya is all excited about essaying the role of a super cool ‘Nani’ in Sony SAB’s upcoming romantic comedy series – Khatmal-E-Ishque. Here are some excerpts from the interview. What made you chose this show? The main reason I chose ‘Khatmal-E-Ishque’ was for its association with Garima Productions. I have always shared a special bond with Ashwni Dhir who is the Producer of Garima Productions and also the writer of the show. Moreover, I have worked on few episodes of SAB’s long running show Chidiyaghar, hence I am aware of their working style, the atmosphere of the set and I am very comfortable with it. Additionally, once I take up a task, then I do not get into the nitty-gritties, I believe in my directors and producers and trust their decisions. Over time, we have achieved a mutual confidence about the roles I am about to play, and we are confident that it can be pulled off without a hassle. Thus, when they approached me, there was no question of saying no. Tell us about the first episode on Khatmal-E-Ishq I don’t want to divulge a lot as I want the viewers to watch the series. The story is about Kapildev (Vishal Malhotra), an eccentric traffic cop from Kanpur and Lovina (Umang Jain), a physiotherapist from Goa who fall in love with each other. It is a love story, which everyone can relate to as it is based on real life situations faced by us. It is not a forced comedy and involves a lot of emotions as well, which I am sure will pluck at everyone’s heart strings. Tell us about your character in the story? I play the character of a catholic Nani who is vivacious and always happy. She also has a very caring side to her, particularly towards her granddaughter Lovina. She stands by Lovina and is supportive of her choice of a life partner particularly when she faces opposition from her father who is not on board with the love affair. The entire cast had flown down to Goa for the shoot. Share your experience shooting in goa? Shooting in Goa was just like a picnic for us. Over time, we had formed a great bond with the entire unit and production team. The working conditions, the people in goa and weather was just perfect for the shoot. Ideally, any task I take up I give my 100% and try to enjoy every moment, but with such a beautiful place like Goa, with such lovely people and food, the experience was made even more special. Tell us about your association with Sony SAB. My relationship with SAB goes back many years., I have worked on ‘Yes Boss’ another long running show which was a weekly program, that had worked for almost 8-9 years. It’s not a new thing for me to work with SAB. I share a special bond with them and I am very comfortable working with them. ‘Khatmal-E-Ishque’ will premiere from 13th December 2016, Monday – Friday at 10 pm only on Sony SAB!

Actor Rituraj Singh models his secret agent role in Trideviyaan on a close family member Sony SAB is entertaining the audiences with its latest offering Trideviyaan that was launched earlier this month. The story is about three women living dual lives, fighting crime and managing domestic issues. Their team is led by Dinnanath Chauhan (Rituraj Singh) who plays the role of a dismissed secret agent (Agent Himalaya). Interestingly, we got to know that the actor has close relatives in the family who have been in the armed forces and in RAW. Rituraj’s father has served in the army, he was a Liftenant general and his uncle was in the Indian army all his life, but he took premature retirement and his colonel uniform got replaced by a suit. As a child, Rituraj found this to be strange and couldn’t figure the reasons for this change until his uncle died. As a child, Rituraj found it fascinating that his uncle was fluent in 7 languages including Arabic and Chinese which he could read and write. He also had a spool player which had headphones and he would always keep it locked. He also had a very mysterious mannerisms, whenever anyone tried contacting him, he would never pick his phone, but would only send messages on paper in sealed envelopes. They always had a secret code written in the tiniest font, unreadable without a microscope. But for Rituraj , these various ‘pieces of the puzzle’ only fell into place once the ‘secret’ was revealed.Rituraj told us that he was thrilled at getting to emulate his real life hero, by playing the role of secret agent Himalaya.The actor shared a quote with us on his experience of playing a secret agent in "reel life". “It feels great! The story line is so different from regular shows and even though I thoroughly enjoy playing all my roles, being agent Himalaya in Trideviyaan is special as it reminds me of my uncle.” When asked what’s the one thing a secret agent should keep in mind, Rituraj said,“ He should never share any information with anyone because you can never know who else may also be in disguise.” Catch all the action in 'Trideviyaan' Monday to Friday, 9.30 pm only on Sony SAB.

When friendship takes centre stage Coming from a Marathi theatre background, SumeetRaghavan and RupaliBhosle of Sony SAB’sBadi Door Se Aaye Hai share much in common apart from the sets of their show Badi Door Se Aaye Hai lead pair SumeetRaghavan and RupaliBhosle bonded over their common backgrounds — both had worked in the Marathi industry and have done a fair bit of theatre too. These common interests forged a rare comfort level between the two, which helped develop a great chemistry onscreen as well. In a candid conversation, Sumeet and Rupali share interesting bits about their journey as co-stars. Edited excerpts from the conversation. So, how did the ice break when you two met on the sets for the first time? Sumeet: It took a while initially because this was the first time we were working together. But once we started working on our scenes, we developed a rapport. It helps that she too comes from the Marathi industry and dabbles in theatre as well. Our common backgrounds helped us connect. Rupali: I must admit it was a little difficult at the start. I was a little nervous when I realised I was being paired opposite Sumeet, given his experience in the industry. But when we started working with each other closely, we got comfortable. Despite his seniority, he was extremely warm. This is my first Hindi serial, and he supported me a lot. Was it awkward filming the romantic scenes considering you were sharing screen space for the first time? Sumeet: No. We are actors at the end of the day. Rupali: It was awkward for me since I had never worked with Sumeet previously. But as time passed by, we became comfortable. The credit for this goes to Sumeet since he has been extremely understanding. In fact, there were times when he calmed my nerves and helped me deliver my best. So who is a better co-star among the two of you? Sumeet: I think Rupali is a better co-star since she is a very sorted person. Rupali: Undoubtedly Sumeet. He makes things easy for me. So, who takes more re-takes? Sumeet: We take retakes only when we start laughing in the middle of our scene. Having said that, we are quite professional since we have a theatre background. We are habituated to delivering our dialogues by heart, so there is no scope for retakes. Rupali: We opt for retakes only when we end up laughing between scenes. Is there any particular scene that’s made it’s way to your heart so far? Sumeet: The song sequences on the show are my favourite. I personally feel that they are well-packaged. Rupali: There was a sequence where our daughter, 333, lands on Earth to meet us. By the end of the episode, I had to see her off, and I felt genuinely bad since I am a mother too. Is there any scene that’s made you go ‘I wish I had done it better’? Sumeet: I don’t think so. We are professionals; we do our best for every scene. Rupali: None, actually. I am not the type who regrets anything because I give my 100 per cent to all my scenes. Can you reveal the one thing you like about each other and one thing you dislike about each other? Sumeet: Rupali is extremely hardworking, and one thing dislike about her, are her PJs. Rupali: Sumeet is extremely disciplined. There is nothing I dislike about him. What’s your off-screen equation like? Sumeet: We are good friends, and that’s about it. Rupali: He is very friendly. In fact he is more like a father figure. National Green Highway Mission at India CSR Summit 2016 27th September 2016, Mumbai, focusing on green highways, participants from corporate houses, bank and public sector units provided valuable insights on implementing the necessary policies to make the highways greener on the first day of the two-day India CSR Summit and CSR Partnerships Exhibition 2016 at Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East). The National Green Highways Mission (NGHM) under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is the nodal agency for effective implementation and monitoring of Green Highways Project. Dr Ajoy K Bhattacharya, MD at National Green Highways Mission moderated the session that saw participation from eminent stakeholders. “Our mission is to be responsible for implementing the green highways policy. We have around 1 lakh kilometres of highways available for greening and may be in the next ten years, we will have 2 lakh kilometres,” said Dr Ajoy K Bhattacharya, MD at NGHM. Ms. Induja Rai, advisor at NGHM made an insightful presentation on Adopting a Green Highway where she discussed different possible ways in which corporates and individuals can adopt the initiative. Tell us something about the concept of the show Ans: The perception of naagins is that they are very vengeful and negative and this show is all set to change that perception. The show will show the good side of the naagins and will break the myth about them being vicious. I play Iccha who will come to earth and help all and she will also fall in love with a human. 2.) Why did you choose IcchapyaariNaagin? Ans:IcchapyaariNaagin’s story is very different and is never seen before on Indian television. For the first time people will watch a cute looking Naagin on TV. The whole concept of the show is very intriguing, so when I was offered this project I couldn’t say a no. 3.) Your character is very unique, Iccha is a pyaarinaagin and not aIcchadhaarinaagin. Ans: Yes, it is a very unique character that I am playing. Iccha is a pyaarinaagin, she has come to Earth to make friends with people. Hence the show is named ‘IcchapyaariNaagin’. 4.) Your look on the show is very different. Please tell us about your look. Ans: On the show I am getting to wear a different attire, as I have to convince the audience that I am a naagin. Although I play a bubbly and sweet naagin, but there needs to be something that will send across the message that I am a naagin living amongst humans. I will be seen sporting a naaginmaang tikka and golden flowy outfits when I will be shown in my naagin avatar on screen. 5.) Are you comfortable with comedy? Ans: I did Ammaji Ki Galli on SAB TV before. That was an out and out comedy show and I played a samosa walli. Here however, it is more of situational comedy, the dialogues are well written and very funny. So yes I am comfortable with the comedy genre. 6.) Are open to doing comedy show? Ans: I am open to doing comedy shows. Infact after IcchapyaariNaagin, I will get to know how the viewers are liking me in a comedy role. And if in the future if something comes up I will definitely take it up, as it would be challenging for me because I am more comfortable with drama. 7.) You are making a comeback on the small screen after a brief hiatus. What were you doing while you were away from television? Ans: For the years that I was away from television I was doing regional movies down south. I did a Malyalam movie Anarkali with Prithviraj and had KabirBedi playing my father. The movie did very well and I wanted to experience how is it to work in movies. Also at that point I believed that it was the right decision for my career and I learnt a lot. However I always missed doing television, because I started my career here and I will continue working on the small screen.

Baahubali visits the sets of Tutak Tutak Tutiya Prabhudeva and Sonu Sood seemed to be having a blast when it came to the shooting of their upcoming film Tutak Tutak Tutiya. A source revealed, they recently shot for the title song Tutak Tutak Tutiya where Tammanah was seen wearing harem pants, something similar to what she was wearing in Baahubali. On probing further one realized that the same was worn by her during the shoot of Baahubali and she considered the same lucky for herself. On getting to know about the same, Prabhudeva and Sonu were in splits and they kept pulling her leg on the same, which even made it to the ending of the title track. ITM University Raipur Conducted Traffic Awareness Drive Raipur, September 2016: Today, road accidents have become a part and parcel of our life and unfortunatelythis accident occursmostly due to reckless driving, poor knowledge about traffic regulation, speed, over takes etc. This year, ITM University had organised a week long campaign on safe driving and traffic awareness across Raipur and Naya Raipur from 11th to 17th September. The main objective behind the drive was to spread as much awareness as possible among the people,especially the bikers. Around total no of 200 students participated in the campaign along with few faculty members. Commenting on the drive, Hon. Vice Chencellor, Dr. Sanjay Kumar said “If we make our younger generation aware of simple things about traffic regulations, then many of these accidents can be averted”. To alert and educate people regarding safety of wearing helmets, a helmet rally was organized for the bikers. Also, thank you cards were gifted to the people who followed basic traffic guidelines. For most actors, television serves as a stepping stone to films. Sandeep Anand, who plays the lead role in May I Come In, Madam?. May quit the popular show for a Bollywood offer. One of the top-running shows on Like OK, May I Come In, Madam? had become a mass favourite in the comedy genre, but with Sandeep’s exit, the numbers may dwindle. Given this, the show’s producers are trying to convince the actor to change his mind, we hear. An insider reveals, “They are trying their best to retain him. They have offered him a huge hike and are also trying to work out timings for his convenience.” Sandeep Anand who plays Sajan is yet to make a decision at this point. When asked him about the same, Sandeep said that “Every actor wants to grow and this is a brilliant opportunity, something I had been waiting for. However, I am in two minds. My show has become popular and people love my character; it will be a very difficult decision.
