The Dhun Project has facilitated the opening of music training centers across five large prisons in North India. The initiative uses the powerful medium of music (vocal and instrumental) toassist in rehabilitation of prison inmates, thus preparing them for reintegrating into society post their prison term. 'The Dhun Project' has now touched the lives of close to 250 inmates at five training centres in UP and Haryana prisons. Since the project's initiation in 2018with the launch of their first music training center at the Bhondsi Jail in Gurugram, Haryana, four more training centres have been set up atRothak and Ambalaprisons in Haryana, and Dasna and Kasna prisons in Uttar Pradesh. Furthermore, special trainers (vocal and instrumental) have been appointed who visit the music centres on a regular basis to train the prison inmates. The training centres are well equipped with instruments such as drum set, pad, tabla, dholak, harmonium, guitar and electric keyboards. So far, 116 inmates have been trained in vocal, 105 in instrumental and 23 inmates trained in both vocal and instrumental music. Apart from being a source of cheer and entertainment, the training equips inmates with a potential source of livelihood. mjunction’s tea e-marketplace at Jorhat to bring in efficient solutions

Kolkata, June 18, 2019: The new e-marketplace for tea to be set up at Jorhat in Assam by India’s largest B2B e-commerce company, mjunction services limited, will use an innovative e-platform to be devised in consultation with the Tea Board, and is expected to score heavily in terms of turnaround time and cost effectiveness. mjunction has been appointed as the system integrator to design, develop, implement and maintain this e-auction platform. The e-auction system will aid fair and market-driven price discovery. Though Assam provides the highest quantity of the tea in India, it has only one auction centre and thus the whole process of ‘production to payment’ takes more than a month. mjunction plans to shorten this cycle time with features like automated catalogue management. As per Tea Board officials, “We are introducing the new platform through mjunction to push the price discovery part. The new system will be in place in three months. It would be handling up to 200 million kg of tea per year.” According to mjunction MD & CEO Mr Vinaya Varma, “We have been associated with the tea industry for some time, and our upcoming tea e-marketplace in Jorhat will help us to make a difference to a large cross-section of buyers and sellers in the industry, giving them access to a wide range of services from a single platform.” The inclusive e-marketplace model is expected to bring on board secondary and tertiary buyers from all over the country, giving them access to the freshest tea, easy to use automated catalogue and faster movement of material. Public Hearing for grant of Environmental Clearance to GarePelma-II Coal Block allotted to MAHAGENCO will held on 27.06.2019

A writ petition was filed by Mr. Ramesh Agrawal seeking cancellation of Public Hearing scheduled on 27.06.2019 for grant of Environmental Clearance for GarePelma-II Coal Block situated at Tehsil-Tamnar, District-Raigarh (C.G.) allotted to Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd. (MAHAGENCO) on the ground that under Environment Impact Assessment notification, 2006 dated 14th September 2006, only member secretary of State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) is empowered to decide the date and venue for conducting Public Hearing whereas in this case this power has been delegated to the Regional Officer of the SPCB. On 20.06.2019, the Hon’ble High Court of Chhattisgarh presided by the Hon’ble Chief Justice Mr. P. R. Ramachandra Menon and Hon’ble Mr. Justice Goutam Bhaduri, dispose off this writ petition with an order that on the date of public hearing with the presence of Member Secretary of Chhattisgarh State Environment Conservation Board, the grievance of the petitioner will be over. Accordingly Hon’ble High Court of Chhattisgarh directed the presence of Member Secretary on the date of Public Hearing i.e. 27.06.2019 for grant of Environmental Clearance to GarePelma-II Coal Block allotted to MAHAGENCO.

Adani Australia gets final environmental approval for Carmichael mine

Ahmedabad 13 June 2019: Adani Australia on Thursday received its final environmental approval needed to begin work on its Carmichael mine in Central Queensland.
