Mihika Verma being missed on ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ set!

Mihika, who played the role of Mihika Iyer in Star Plus’s popular show Ye Hai Mohabbatein, has been replaced by Avangika Hundal. Actor Aly Goni, who is seen as Mihika's husband in the show now, is missing her on the set. "I miss her so much on the set. She was my favourite co-star and buddy. The track now has my character married to the show's Mihika, how I wish we had her now. Great friends getting married on screen," Aly said in a statement." ''She's a rock star and was the fun element on the set. There were many times she helped me with my scenes. She has a beautiful soul. I wish her all the luck and love in life," he added. In the industry where friends are few who stay in touch even beyond their shows, these BFF's have also been face timing with each other to stay in touch. Their friendship grew on the sets when they had quite a few scenes together, the most iconic would be when they performed on a medley together. CHUHIYA AND MARKATI DUPED!

SAB TV’s Chidiya Ghar is gearing up for another exciting track in its coming episodes. Kapi (Saaransh Verma) is finding it difficult to support the family with his income, which is also a point of contention with Chuhiya (Trishikha Tripathi). So, Chuhiya along with Markati (Aarti Khandpal), decide to support their husbands and contribute to the family income by finding work. They visit a Gulf airline company for the job of an air-hostess and both get selected. But, to go further, they are told to pay an amount of one lakh rupees that will take them to the Gulf country and help settle in. They pay the amount and board the boat that will supposedly take them to the “Gulf country.” It is when they’re dropped off at Madh Island that they realize they have been duped. Trishikha Tripathi, who plays Chuhiya in SAB TV’s Chidiya Ghar, says, “Markati and Chuhiya wish to shoulder the burden with their husbands by getting a job and earning money for the family. They get selected to become air-hostesses but they are told to pay Rs.1.5 lakhs for it. When they find themselves in the Film City in Mumbai instead of a Gulf country, they realize that they have been swindled. What happen next is sure to entertain the audiences!” What next will Chuhiya and Markati do? How will they get out of this mess? And will they catch the fraudsters red-handed? To find out, tune in to Chidiya Ghar from Monday to Friday at 9pm, only on SAB TV.

UNICEF India launches public advocacy campaign

‘Fair Start’ for Every Child NEW DELHI, May , 2016: UNICEF India today unveiled the ‘Fair Start’ film as part of a (social) media campaign that will focus on persisting inequities that large groups of children in India face, affecting their survival, growth and development. A series of impactful films will give an insight into the lives of millions of children from various backgrounds, who are full of potential but less likely to grow up healthy and safe, less likely to attend school , less likely to learn, and more likely to be married as children. Introducing the film, Caroline Den Dulk, Chief, Advocacy & Communication, UNICEF India said, “Every child deserves a fair start in his/her life and deserves adequate nutrition, education, sanitation, protection and health care. The campaign draws attention to the lives of many children who are deprived of these basic rights, often at times determined simply by where they are born. Every child should have a fair and equal chance in life, irrespective of their caste, ethnicity, gender, poverty, region or religion.” UNICEF works closely with the Government of India and many other partners to curb the situation of the most vulnerable and deprived children, ensuring that each child born in this vast and complex country gets the best start in life, thrives and develops to his or her full potential. Every Child deserves a #FairStart. Currently, 6.1 million children in India are out- of -school ; around 10 million children are engaged in work in India ; close to 3500 children die every day before reaching age 5 ; 42 per cent of tribal children in India are stunted in their growth and development ; and almost half the population of India, about 564 million people still practice open defecation .Girls in India deserve an equal chance in life too, but on an average 2.22 million girls marry early every year in India , and 23% girls between 15-19 years of age experience physical or sexual violence . “Often the issues faced are immensely complex in nature and cut across all layers of society”, said Mrs. Den Dulk. “To make change happen a mind-shift is required. The #FairStart campaign aims at engaging the larger public in a debate and for everyone to see they have a role to play to make sure every child can have a fair chance in life”. The ‘Fair Start’ films were produced with the participation of a group of children who brought their own daily reality to the film set. “We have made this film with a lot of love and we hope you like it. Press Release For Immediate Dissemination Glenmark launches “Digihaler - India’s first DigitalDose Inhaler (DDI)” for Asthma and COPD medication • Digihaler, the next-gen digital inhaler provides accurate digital dose counter along with low dose warning indicator to track patience adherence • Digihaler is the next-gen digital inhaler with high precision drug delivery system • With the launch of “Digihaler”, Glenmark expands and strengthens its product offerings in respiratory category • According to estimates, 50 to 70 per cent of asthma patients in India do not adhere to prescribed treatment regimen, and suffer in the long run. MUMBAI, 2016: Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited, the research-led global integrated pharmaceutical company today announced launch of “Digihaler – India’s first Digital Dose Inhaler (DDI).” This next-gen inhaler provides accurate digital dose counter along with low dose warning indicator to enable Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients to track adherence to their therapy. As per WHO estimates 2007, there are 300 million people currently suffering from asthma globally, and it is expected that could increase by further 100 million by 2025. There have been 2,50,000 deaths per year globally and 57,500 deaths per year in India. Today, there are about 35 million asthmatics in India and about 40% patients have an uncontrolled asthma and over 60% have partially controlled asthma. It is a known fact that, patient’s compliance is worldwide challenge in any chronic disease treatment, especially in Asthma and COPD condition, where daily preventative medication is crucial for its treatment. Implication of non-adherence leads to poor control symptoms, worsening the quality of life, high mortality rate which further increases health care expenditure and so on.Globally over 50% of patients have asthma that is not well controlled. In India about 40% patients have an uncontrolled asthma and over 60% have partially controlled asthma. On the occasion of the launch, Sujesh Vasudevan, President and Head of India Formulations & Africa Region, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, said, “We feel Digital revolution will play a central role in the industry. Especially in Asthma and COPD disease, were patient’s non-adherence to treatment regimeis age old challenge worldwide, and also one of major reason for inadequate control of asthma and COPD across age groups. Digihaler is “India’s First Digital Dose Inhaler (DDI)”,aims to address this age old challenge, the device will enable the patients to track the number of doses that have been consumed and prominently placed indicator provides a low dose warning which is beneficial to patients. This will further enable the doctors to determine patient’s adherence to the prescribed therapy regime.” “Digihaler also addresses the issue of pseudo-adherence & tail-off phenomenon which leads to poor outcome of the therapy. Pseudo-adherence is when patients thinks that he/she taking their medication but in reality is just activating a nearly empty canister. A “tail-off” phenomenon occurs when patients continues to use the inhaler beyond the recommended number of doses and the drug delivery per actuation becomes inconsistent and unpredictable, with the amount of active drug eventually becoming negligible.” He added further, “With the launch of Digihaler, Glenmark is committed to provide innovative and world class products at affordable prices, and it further expands and strengthens our product offerings in the respiratory category too” Digihaler, represents a next-gen inhaler which is “India’s First Digital Dose Inhaler” (DDI). The revolutionary Digital Dose Inhaler – DDI offers several benefits like low dose display forewarning the patient about the impending end of the ‘recommended’ doses, end dose display, so device can be replaced with a new one’ and “Tail-Off” phenomenon About Glenmark Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd. A LEOPARD CAN NEVER CHANGE ITS SPOTS

The learning process in an individual’s life starts right from the word 'go'. As soon as a child is born, he understands the fact that he should start crying when he's hungry or should start moving his head sideways when he's had his fill. Certainly, some habits are hardwired into the human brain. Apart from the habits that we are born with, there are a large number of habits we acquire from our surroundings. Why is it that on being depressed some feel the urge to eat, while others to smoke? Or why do you think that a woman wearing a short dress makes some to get disgusted while makes others to turn their heads 180 degrees? The answer is that just as a LEOPARD CAN NEVER CHANGE THE SPOTS ON ITS BODY, and A DOG’S TAIL CAN NEVER BE STRAIGHTENED, no matter how much we try, much the same way, a person can never get rid of the habits that he's made to be a part of his lifestyle. We all have observed, or rather experienced a phase of life when elders or other well-wishers used to stop us from doing' little'-little' things. They took the utmost care that we don't get involved into any activities which might spoil us. But as we grow up, these restrictions slowly and steadily gave way to freedom. Why do you think that there were 'n' number of restrictions imposed on us in our childhood days, but not many as we grew up? There is a reason behind it. As a leopard cub is born, it has the faint spots on its baby fur, but gradually these spots become prominent and they make a clear pattern which can never be changed through its life span. The lesson that can be learnt here is that the qualities or habits which we develop at a tender age remain with us for the rest of our lives. We cannot get rid of them no matter how much we try to. We are similar to an un-moulded creation during our childhood. Our parents try to develop some qualities in us during these days while keeping us away from the others, much the same way as a sculptor tries chiselling down a piece of rock in order to accentuate it some places, while smoothen at the others. Diamonds too are a part of soil and mud until they are identified and cut to brighten away with their shine. We too are like an uncut diamond in our childhood. Our cuts are determined by the surroundings that we live in. So always make best use of your surroundings and set the world bedazzled by your glory and "koh-i-noor" like sparkle.

Kajolmeets with the Prime Minister to discuss handwashing behaviour change to help achieve Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

Discusses the need for handwashing facilities in schools and results-based handwashing behavior change programmes like ‘Help A Child Reach 5’ New Delhi, May, 2016:Kajol Devgn, actor and Lifebuoy’s ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ handwashing ambassador and Sanjiv Mehta, CEO and Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) met with Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modito discuss the need for handwashing behaviour change and use of handwashing facilities in schools in India. They also discussed HUL’s work on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) behaviour changeprogrammeand the ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ handwashing campaign. ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ has been advocating for handwashing with soap as one of the most cost-effective means of preventing child deathsonplatforms including the United Nations General Assembly. Kajol has been actively advocating for a hygiene indicator to be included within the Sustainable Development (SDGs) so that countries can actively measure its progress. Inclusion of an indicator in SDGs on handwashing is a victory for public health, and governments worldwide will now take ownership of the SDGs for their respective countries. Kajol advocated for handwashing behaviour change coupled with handwashing facilities, particularly in schools, to realize the full potential of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Mr. Sanjiv Mehta, CEO and Managing Director, HUL, said, “We have shared with Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi the work that Hindustan Unilever has done within WASH including ‘Help a Child Reach 5’. We will use our mass communication campaign ‘SwachhAadat, Swachh Bharat’ to drive behaviour change reaching out to one in five Indians by 2020. By working in collaboration with ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan’, I truly believe that we will be able to reach out and positively impact crores of people across the country.” Speaking about her associationwith ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ campaign, Kajol said, “As a mother and an actor, I am proud to be associated with a campaign that stresses on the importance of handwashing behaviour change to prevent needless child deaths. I am delighted that a handwashing indicator has been included in the SDGs. I am inspired by the Government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan and I believe that ensuring that all schools have presence and use of handwashing facilities in schools will help make hygiene a reality for children across India.“ India has the highest number of child deaths from diarrhoea and pneumonia globally – with over six lakh child deaths each year from such preventable diseases. Handwashing with soap can reduce diarrhoeal diseases by nearly half and respiratory infections by a quarter. ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ campaign has been scaled to 28 countries by Lifebuoy reaching out to 33.7 crore people globally out of which 6.5 crore are schoolchildren and mothers in India. One of the critical pillars of making Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan a success is behaviour change, which complements the efforts to create access to hygiene sanitation for all. HUL will contribute by using its communication skills to positively influence behaviours, and ‘HaathMooh Bum’ and ‘Help a Child Reach 5’ are good examples of this. HUL’s sustainability programmes include rural education, urban slum programmes and water conservation (conducted by Hindustan Unilever Foundation) initiatives across the country. About Sustainable Development Goals:  Sustainable Developments Goals set out a positive vision for the future.  The private sector, governments and civil society now need to find new ways of working together to drive the systems change needed to get there.  In September 2015, more than 190 countries signed up to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which set out a vision for ending poverty, hunger, inequality and protecting the Earth’s natural resources by 2030.  Realising this ambition will require a step-change in the way that the private sector, governments and civil society work together.  There are 17 goals each with a set of indicators – a roadmap for governments to realise the goals. Handwashing with soap sits under Goal 6, Clean Water and Sanitation  Achieving the SDGs by 2030 will require concerted collective action and new forms of partnership.

Transcript KavitaKaushik who plays Dr. BhanumatiBhinn in SAB Tv

Transcript- KavitaKaushik who plays Dr. BhanumatiBhinn in SAB Tv Q1. You are back on SAB TV with a new show. How does it feel? Ans:- It feels great to be back working on SAB TV. It’s a great channel and it’s a known territory, it’s known people and it’s a happy channel which does clean comedy. It’s been my territory for 9 years so I have always had a great association working with the channel. I am very happy and glad that they have given me such a wonderful crazy character like Dr. Bhanumati to play yet again. They have given me such a beautiful big playground to show my acting prowess and I think only SAB TV makes these happy shows and happy larger than life characters and this channel gives one that platform and I am very happy to be back on SAB TV. Q2. Tell us about the concept of the show Dr. Bhanumati on Duty Ans:-DrBhanumati on duty is a hospital comedy and there are these amazing crazy, cases and patients that come in to this hospital and DrBhanumati cures them with alternate treatment and her own style of medical treatment which is very interesting, funny, surprising and shocking, basically it is all in one. As her name suggests BhanumatiBhinn- Bhinnbhinntareeko se ilaajkartihai. Q3. How is Bhanumati different from ChandramukhiChautala? Ans:- Although Bhanumati and Chandramukhi share a lot of strong basic qualities like courage, fighting for justice, helping other people, bravery. There is certain amount of difference in their personalities one is their origin, Chandramukhi belonged to Haryana so she spoke Haryanvi, Bhanumati belongs to Rajasthan she is a Maharaja’s daughter and she speaks Rajasthani. Unlike Chandramukhi, Bhanumati is very feminine yet she is very intimidating people around her are usually scared of her. She has a lot of color and flair of adaayein and a lot of naaz and style in a very womanly manner, Chandramukhi was like one of the boys bhanumati is the lady and apart from having a lot of womanly anecdotes she is extremely strong and intimidating and speaks very highly of women empowerment. Every-time I say unlike Chandramukhi I also say like Chandramukhibecause somewhere you could look at them as two very strong individuals, definitely different personalities that is where the challenge lies to play them differently so that they look like two different people although played by the same person. But they share a lot of basic integral qualities but yet they are very different. Q4. How did you prepare yourself for the role? Ans:-I have infact done a special exercise and yoga regime to make my body look different from how I used to look as Chandramukhi where I had a leaner body. For Bhanumati I have worked out and indulged in certain exercises which make me look curvy and gives my body a feminine body language. A lot of intense research has gone behind the character of Bhanumati. Q5. Your character BhanumatiBhinn is seen as a daredevil army officer, will we see you pulling off a few stunts on the show? Ans:- Well I guess my name is synonym with action when it comes to television. I love doing all my action and stunts myself and yes I hope and yes we have shot the first promo which is a full on action promo apart from that as in when in the episode, in fact my introduction is a very high voltage action introduction and time and again in the show very often we will have a lot of action and of course I will be doing it all by myself because that’s what my amusement park is coming to shoot and knowing there is an action sequence and there are fight masters on the set, I feel like I have walked into an amusement park and I am going to sit on some amazing rides, that gives me a great adrenaline rush and makes me very happy. So for sure you will be seeing me do a lot of action. Q6. GopiBhalla and you have been a part of FIR earlier and now this show, how has your experience been working with him? Ans:- I go 9 years back with Gopiji, I have seen him every day for 9 years of my life which is a very very long association. In fact today when we met at the shoot for the first time for this show it was a very emotional moment and he came and hugged me like he has never before and I could feel in that hug that he really missed working together and spending time together because we used to have a great time and I must say I am very naughty and specially with my co-actors, I feel you don’t have fun in the day and don’t laugh and it gets really boring because we do comedy and it the toughest genre to depict and perform. While doing comedy you need to be very happy and in a good mood. I used to play a lot of pranks on people and mostly it would be Gopiji because he is very sweet and innocent and I love pulling his leg. I am looking forward to play a lot more pranks on him. From innocent Saajan to sensuous Shaantabai

From innocent Saajan to sensuous Shaantabai While leading men have disguised themselves as ladies in the past, Sandeep Anand is taking this concept to another level. The actor who plays the lead in Life OK’s May I Come In, Madam? played Shaantabai, a very unusual house help. Sandeep who usually wears black lenses took off his lenses and flaunted his originally grey eyes to play the sensuous Shaantabai. Sandeep also has played a pregnant woman on the show before and flaunted his baby bump. The show has made its way to the audience’s hearts in a short time. Also, there’s a lot of experimentation and innovation with the characters and concept every time. Saajan, who has a huge crush on his sexy boss, makes another attempt to impress her. While her maid is away, Saajan thinks of this as an opportunity and becomes a ‘bai’ for her. While talking about it Sandeep said, “They have made me a woman before this. I feel the two hot women don’t bring as much glamour as the show as I do. Since I believe in observation is the biggest source of knowledge for any actor, I did a lot of research on our house helps. Thanks to them that I could pull off a bai for the show.”

Ishita Dutta to be seen in Life Ok’s next

Ishita Dutta to be seen in Life Ok’s next Actress Ishita Dutta will be seen romancing Vatsal Seth in the upcoming show RishtonKaSaudagar-Baazigar on Life OK. Ishita was last seen in the show EkGharBanaunga, which went off air in 2014, and then went on to play Ajay Devgn's daughter in Drishyam. Talking about her break from TV, she said, “When you are doing TV, you don't get time to do anything else. After EkGharBanaunga got over, I did some projects down south and also did Drishyam, where I played a very young girl. I also did a web series that will go on air soon. After finishing all these projects, I got an offer for this show. This show is like a fairy tale love story with a twist, something that hasn't been seen on TV. “ The actress also revealed that she gets to play a girl from Lucknow in this one. “I played a Lucknow girl in my last show and will again play a Lucknow girl in my new show! I was the last one to be cast for the show ¬ a couple of days before the cast was supposed to leave for Lucknow. Even for Drishyam, I was finalized a few days before they were supposed to leave for their Goa shoot. I think that this `last moment casting' is lucky for me, “she added. Ishita also spoke about her elder sister Tanushree, whom she considers her mentor. “It's because of her that I am here. She is very happy that I am doing this show. She will also be coming back soon on screen as she is considering a few offers. She is also sad that with both of us shooting, we won't get to spend time together. We're making the most of the free time we have right now because my shooting schedule isn't that hectic currently, “she signed off. MELBOURNE STRIKES NEW MED TECH DEALS IN INDIA

May, 2016 MELBOURNE STRIKES NEW MED TECH DEALS IN INDIA The State Government of Victoria, Australia today announced the signing of two new agreements which will further strengthen Victoria’s renowned medical technology sector and share our expertise partnering with leading Indian organisations to address major health challenges, including the diagnosis of epilepsy. Swinburne University has signed two memoranda of understanding with major Indian partners while on a Neuroscience Victoria trade mission, run jointly by the Victorian Government and Austrade to open up new markets for Victorians in the medical technology sector. Neuroscience leaders from Swinburne University, who were part of the delegation to India, signed an agreement with Medanta, one of India’s largest private hospitals, on a project to improve diagnosis of epilepsy across India. The overall prevalence of epilepsy in India is 5.59-10 in 1000 persons. There is a gap in access to adequate diagnostic services and medical care in particularly in rural India. This project will develop products and technologies that can be used to help diagnose epilepsy in villages and remote communities across the vast nation. The technology can be used to help local health workers diagnose epilepsy early and refer patients for treatment in urban centres. Swinburne also signed a memorandum of understanding with the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to develop a cutting edge ‘smart helmet’ to reduce the incidence of head injuries for motorcyclists. Two thirds of road vehicles in India are two wheelers and tens of thousands of people die on India’s roads every year with many more suffering injury and trauma, but many people still do not wear helmets.According to a study by the state police, there were over 1 Lakh deaths due to road accidents in India in the year 2015. The ‘smart helmet’isdesigned to be light-weight and incorporate technology to address issues that discourage people from wearing helmets. These new agreements reinforce Victoria’s reputation as a world leader in the life sciences sector and India aligns as a natural partner with its globally recognised expertise in medical research. Quotes attributable to Dr Trehan of Medanta “The partnership will allow the most isolated patients to receive the medial expertise of their urban brothers and sisters. Technology and training is the key to increasing accessibility and improving health outcomes for village populations.” Quotes attributable to Professor Ajay Kapoor, Pro-Vice Chancellor International Research Engagement & Development, Swinburne University of Technology “This has been a very successful trade mission for us with two new agreements that will further enhance our strong working relationship with India.” " Quotes attributable to Minister for Small Business, Innovation and Trade Philip Dalidakis “Congratulations to Swinburne on these exciting new agreements – agreat example of the opportunities that our targeted trade mission program is providing to take our expertise to the world, boosting our med tech reputation and creating jobs here at home.” Quotes attributable to Minister for Health Jill Hennessy “We’re determined to capitalise on the export, investment and job creating potential of Victoria’s healthcare and medical research sector, and further strengthening our relationship with India will help us achieve that.” About the Victorian Government Business Office in India The Victorian Government Business Office in Bangalore provides an extensive range of support services for Indian companies looking to do business in Victoria. The office, established in 2005, promotes trade and investment in a number of key sectors including information and communication technology, tourism and associated direct air access, as well as the promotion of international education services, financial services and life sciences.
