DP World facilitates ease of business through Container Rail Road Services (CRRS)
~Strengthens hinterland connectivity to various ICDs in the country~
National, India, August 19, 2016: DP World, an integral part of the supply chain has envisioned Intermodal services as a key to the infrastructural constraints of the nation. Amplifying its Outside the Gate services, CRRS administers safer movement of containers by avoiding damages or pilferages.
The Category 1 licence granted by the Indian Railways enables DP World to run CRRS on all routes in India for a period of 20 years (from any port in India to the Hinterland ICDs). This ensures fastest possible access to hinterland, significantly reducing the transit time for moving cargo to and from ICDs.
CRRS increases the weight carrying capacity of 61 MT Gross for rail wagon as compared to 26 - 33 MT for trailers by road. No deferrals are faced in comparison to road transport where the trailers are subjected to costs at various check points en-route. Benefitting the trade, CRRS also minimizes the choke-points which hamper the supply chain. Adding to the advantage, this service enables running of double stack trains and charts out synchronized Ship and Train Schedule. Trucking solutions have also been introduced to enable movement of cargo to and from ICDs to customer's premises.
Through CRRS, DP World strengthened direct connectivity along the route of the busiest ports of India including Nhava Sheva to Ludhiana, Faridabad and Loni, Mundra to Ludhiana and Loni, and Pipavav to Ludhiana. New routes to be soon added: Nhava Sheva to Kanpur, Indore and Wardha, and Chennai – Bangalore – Kochi.
Mr. Anil Singh, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World Subcontinent said, “At DP World, we aspire to provide futuristic solutions to the trade. The CRRS services thereby presents commitment to facilitating an ease of doing business and bringing ships as close to the customers as possible. It also operates on eco-friendly and energy efficient modes of transport which warrant reduction in costs through railroads and further easing congestions at Port and National Highways. We strongly believe in evolving with a larger integrated world and thus envision future possibilities basis the emerging difficulties.”
CRRS was launched in October 2007, aided by planning of the entire supply chain and ensured that scope of these services are not limited to the shipping lines/vessel owners but instead offers greater solutions to the consignees, shippers and manufacturers at large. Currently, CRRS owns 315 BLC Wagons which form Seven Rakes each of 45 wagons. Additionally, CRRS facilitates movement of 90 and 180 container TEU per train through selected routes resulting in saving time.
About DP World:

In 2015, DP World handled 61.7 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units) across our portfolio. With its committed pipeline of developments and expansions, the current gross capacity of 79.6 million TEU is expected to rise to more than 100 million TEU by 2020, in line with market demand.

Interview of Vipul Roy from SAB TV’s Dr. Madhumati On Duty
Interview of Vipul Roy from SAB TV’s Dr. Madhumati On Duty
1. This is your 3rd show with SAB TV. How does it feel to be back?
This my 3rd show with SAB TV First being FIR, Second SahebBiwi Boss and Now Dr. Madhumation Duty. It’s a Brilliant association which I and SAB TV have worked together. We work like a Family. I feel lucky to be associated with their shows and they think I have a potential to pull a show. The funny bone in me is always willing to come out and which is why I prefer to work for SAB TV. Speaking of coming back, I actually didn’t leave post FIR I did SahebBiwi Boss post that immediately after two weeks I started shooting Dr. Madhumati on Duty. I just got a minuscule break from SAB TV.
2. Tell us about your character Mohan Prasad.
He is very emotional, very Funny, very witty and stylist guy but overall the layers in mohan is too many. He has come to the hospital to win Madhumati and is so friendly that he gets whole staff with him to woe Madhumati. His style of treatment is different from what Madhumati treats. So if we have a patient whose leg is broken then Mohan will go on into the history and find out how did he broke his leg and try to cure him and reason behind it. In short he is romantic, intense and witty.
3. This is the first time that you are working with Debina, how has your experience been?
We are working for the first time but Debina and I have been friends. On sets we are working like a house fire. We laugh and rehearse together. We are trying to fine tune our chemistry but on SAB TV doing romance is an off track thing. We didn’t expect this but it’s funny we are enjoying this phase. Debina is a fantastic actress more than that she is a very sweet human being. We happened to strike a bond very quickly.
4. This is not the first time that you are doing a comedy show. How challenging is comedy as a genre?
Comedy comes very natural to me and I enjoy doing it always because its in the blood. If you see doing a serious role I tend to it lot more funnier off set so when SAB TV called me for the first time they were like where were you all this years?. I don’t have put a lot of efforts to bring out comedy. I would want to do more and more of comedy shows because I have got a knack of it and I want to entertain people.
5. Is taking up comedy shows a conscious decision?
Yes,I think comedy show are easy for me. If you take mythological or historical show they are more of a stress for me. They have heavy attire, Scenes and sets you go through a lot of stress. I feel personally comedy is blessing in disguise. You get to laugh all the time, you create your own punch and I know people say it’s a difficult task but speaking for myself its not much effort to put into to create a humor. If in future I get a chance to do any comedy show I will never leave that opportunity.
6. Any upcoming projects that you would want to talk about?
I am doing a couple of music videos. I am getting few projects but as of now everything is in talks. I will reveal once I get a clarity on this. Meanwhile just hoping for the best.

ETIHAD AIRWAYS JOINS CELEBRATED INDIAN DESIGNER MANISH MALHOTRA AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK IN MUMBAI
ETIHAD AIRWAYS JOINS CELEBRATED INDIAN DESIGNER MANISH MALHOTRA AT LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK IN MUMBAI
Etihad Airways has teamed up with renowned Indian fashion designer Manish Malhotra to showcase the artiste’s latest collection at the forthcoming Lakmé Fashion Week in Mumbai.
The award-winning airline will join the highly acclaimed designer at India’s leading fashion event for the unveiling of his winter collection, taking place in the country’s commercial capital from August 24 – 28.
Known for designing lavish costumes for Bollywood film stars and Indian cinema for more than two decades, Manish Malhotra has captured the imagination of fashionistas around the world.
His opening night show on August 24, ‘Etihad Airways Presents Manish Malhotra’, will be shot in virtual reality allowing viewers to feel the excitement of being present at the show, whether backstage, front row or at the post-show party. It comes just months after Etihad Airways used the pioneering technology to give viewers unprecedented access to the airline’s award-winning Airbus A380 by immersing them in the aircraft cabins in a virtual reality film ‘Reimagine’ featuring Hollywood actress Nicole Kidman.
The collaboration with Manish Malhotra is the latest initiative by the Abu Dhabi-based airline following its recently-announced sponsorship efforts to become the fashion industry’s preferred airline. This will help further elevate the airline’s premium brand positioning alongside the world’s most revered luxury brands.
Earlier this year, Etihad Airways struck a comprehensive global agreement with WME | IMG as a long-term partner of the fashion industry, connecting the airline with the fashion capitals of the world. The agreement is the first multinational, multi-year airline sponsorship supporting the fashion industry.
Mumbai is the latest stop in Etihad Airways’ global fashion sponsorship, supporting 17 fashion week events in London, Milan, Sydney, New York and Mumbai, worldwide every year. It follows on from the airline’s recent participation at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia.
The tie-up with Manish Malhotra, announced at a Press Conference in Mumbai today featuring an exclusive preview of his new collection, is the second designer collaboration for Etihad Airways after the successful partnership with the Oscar de la Renta fashion house in Australia earlier this summer.
Patrick Pierce, Etihad Airways Vice President Sponsorship, said: “The fashion industry and Etihad Airways represent an ideal brand fit, sharing attributes of being ambitious, innovative and creative – key characteristics that are reflected in our renowned inflight service and hospitality.
“We are therefore delighted to collaborate with Manish Malhotra, one of India’s most celebrated fashion designers, for his opening night event at Lakmé Fashion Week. It promises to be a remarkable show featuring the same VR technology that we premiered with our recent A380 film Reimagine.”
Addressing the Press Conference, Manish Malhotra commented: "I am delighted to be partnering with Etihad Airways as two future forward brands come together. This will be the very first fashion show that will give viewers an experience beyond frontiers, space and time."
Added Neerja Bhatia, Etihad Airways Vice President Indian Subcontinent: “Etihad Airways is a proud partner of India with the largest international network of flights connecting India and the world, with our strategic partner Jet Airways. Together with our award-winning A380 recently introduced on the Mumbai – Abu Dhabi route featuring The Residence, a stylish and iconic three-room suite in the air, this is a perfect fit for high flyers from the fashion industry.
“Etihad Airways truly encompasses all areas of design, innovation and style to become the ultimate premium lifestyle airline. Our A380 service from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi and onwards to New York provides a seamless service to and from these leading fashion cities onboard our luxurious aircraft.”
Lakmé Fashion Week is Etihad Airways’ second major partnership in India following on from its sponsorship of the Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful cricket franchise teams in the Indian Premier League.
