Piramal Enterprise: Caladryl - Brand note

Brand Note: Caladryl Piramal Enterprise: Caladryl - Brand note Caladryl is a market leaderin the anti-allergy and anti-itch topical application segment. It is India’s most prescribed (as per IMS 2015)anti-allergy and anti-irritationskin lotion by doctors. The product has a cooling sensation on application and is effective against skin allergies as well as prickly heat, insect bites, sunburns, diaper rashes and minor skin irritations. Skin allergy is a prevalent condition, however the cause or the solution is little known. It can be caused by harmless substances like everyday clothing materials(mainly woolen or nylon clothes), certain food types, perfumes, artificial jewelry, soaps, laundry detergents, creams, oils, fabric softeners, shampoos — or even excessive exposure to sunrays. One could also have an allergic reaction to something in the air that settles on the skin, like plant pollen, chemical sprays and powders, or cigarette smoke. For a consumer, the best treatment is prevention. However, when contact with trigger cannot be avoided, usually skin rash and the itching can be eased with the right medication. A topical solution such as Caladryl is a saferchoice as compared to steroid based medication or anti-allergy tablets . Key Ingredients: • Calamine I.P 8% w/v • Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride I.P 1% w/v • Ethanol (95%) I.P 2.37% v/v In a camphorated aqueous base, Calamine shields the skin to prevent further damage and helps heal faster. Diphenhydramine is an anti-histamine that controls histamine activity on the affected part of skin and thereby eases redness, swelling and itch in the affected area. Caladryl forms a protective layer over the skin and helps heal symptoms due to allergies and skin irritations in 3 ways: Step 1:Caladryl dries up the accumulated moisture Step 2: Caladryl helps reduce redness, swelling and itching Step 3: A physical barrier is formed over the affected area to protect it against irritants and allergens. This accelerates the healing process. Directions for use: Wash the affected area thoroughly with water. Dab Caladryl lightly on the affected area using cotton or fingers. It should not be rubbed into the skin and it should be ensured that the lotion has dried before covering the affected area. It should be applied 3-4 times a day. Caladryl Lotion is available in 50ml and 100ml packs and can be purchased at all leading chemist outlets across India. The 50ml pack of Caladryl is priced at Rs. 37.35 and the 100ml pack is priced atRs. 56.45.
